Interiors has through the years been the subject of great painters. Once in a while I stumble upon some interiors paintings that I really like and following are some I've collected for this post. Hope you enjoy!
After a wonderful holiday in Sardinia, we're back home. It's always good to be back in your own habitat but a part of you longs to stay. In a warmer climate, slower life, fresher food. You know when a place or a country suits you. We know where this part of us belongs. So after an amazing break it's time to get in the mood and be a little bit more creative. Lets start with some monday's mix of interiors to pump up the volume! Read more to see all the photos.
Ikea USA has a flip on its webpage named Ideas. It's similar to the Swedish Ikea Livet Hemma and full of useful ideas. Recently I search the page and found some cool bedroom ideas I really liked. At least my Lea said she wished to have a room similar to the one above! Read more to see all the photos of the bedroom and another one similar in style.
What I really like in the Ikea catalogue for 2017 is the various use of drapes in spaces. The drapes are used as some dividers in the space. Insted of doors for closets or walls. I've always liked this idea a lot and there's no change about that. If I see it done properly I really stop and look. They master it very well at Ikea and I think you should consider this as an option. It adds layers and textile to a space and are so totally different from closing everything behind doors. Soft pink in endless hues is the colour that has been quite popular recently in many ways. Both in fashion and interior design, it has been seen as a great choice. I mentioned in last post about the new 2017 catalogue from the paint firm Jötun, that in my opinion soft pink is a colour not just in style at the moment, but much more a classic. Soft pink hues are a kind of variation when not painting white or beige. Look at the photos following, like the one above. The colour makes a total difference as a backdrop for the furniture, wouldn't be so if against white. Though white and all white can be really intriguing in some places, I wish people in the more light department would consider soft tones like pink as an option for their home. Not just one wall, more like the whole house or apartment. Why not? Read more for all the photos.
Jötun paint is the one we've been using for years. The reason; for us it's just the best in colours. They really make effort in putting together great colours catalogues every year, and colours that are working for people. Jötun just launched the catalogue for 2017 and following are some photos I found to show you the colours they chose for us to think about next year. What do you think? The tones are into a bit more earth and the trend for soft pink is coming through. For me the soft pastel pink is a classic. And I would love people to try more earthal colours in a lot stronger tones. Brownish and greenish. Skip all old rules about colours and that darker hues make a room smaller. How come? It's still the same in size. Quite contrary the room is gonna feel bigger, specially considering painting the ceiling too. Lets celebrate colours! Read more for all the photos following.
This dining room was something for me to stop and admire. The atmosphere shouts for relaxing and entertaining food-togetherness. The floor of natural tiles and the rattan rug. The chairs, fairy-lights, the plant and the rounded woven pot stands. When I saw the whole home, I noticed it was the same home I had saved sometimes before but from another source. That's why I decided to post the links to both the home visits, for you to see a lot of photos! You have to click read more to be able to click both links.
In August every year it's an annual thing to get the new Ikea catalogue with the postman! It was a heavy sound and loud when it pomped to the floor few days ago. It's always a pleasure flipping through it, but what I like the most is finding some ideas that I feel are a bit different and interesting for people to think of as a choice.
Lets take six ideas I want to show you and discuss. The photo above is the first one. A shelving unit, placed in front of a window, so that the upper part of it has the glass behind it. Almost like a green house, great for plants. But what is interesting, is that the see through effect who is so seldomly used like that (and I really don't understand why) adds a touch of difference in a room and breaks the formal furniture set up. Not only plants, just some beautiful objects.
Many of you like to use the weekends to take care of your home, update, do some changes, clean, enjoy. That's why I want to on regular basis bring to you some amazing and simple ideas that for me are truly useful and real to make in a second...or two! The first one is this clean headboard I find very intriguing. White sheet of some fabrik you like, you can either use the old headboard and throw it over or hang up a curtain rail to flip the fabrik over it. Good luck! The photo is from Ikea/Livet Hemma.
